With the 5 speed transmission, I'm wondering if it's running below 2000 rpm.

Thanks,Bob

Not on a M35X.

On a G35 it about 3K.

If you are getting a 2009, the 7 speed should help, but the final drive ratio is unknown to me.

Why no M37 is a total mystery!

The last Infiniti to operate at 2,000 rpm @ 60 mph was the 90-96 Q45 and the unique 2002 Q45 [special economy rear end ratio*] every other model has exceed that rpm.

*2003-current added a higher ratio to improve accelerationG35 were especially thirsty to win magazine acceleration tests.

i have 06 m35x and was running 2750-3000 rpm at 70-75 mph. Only time the car is under 2k rpm is at a stop light.

I rarely see any V6 run under 2k rpm @60 Usually the V8s+ and diesel are the ones that run that low.

Why couldn't make the luxury M a better highway car than the less expensive Nissans?
