i am about to order my work emotion xd-9's here with my tax return. i got 17x8.5 up front and 17x9.5 in the rear. would a 245/40/17 look too stretched on the rear? or would a 255 fit the rear better? sorry can't really search for something like this it's too specific.

Ask the tire forum guys but I think you would be fine, but I think a size up in width might be better

255 sounds about right. my rear is 10.5, 275s are flush with the rim.

For the fronts you have a range from 225/45 to 255/40, these tires are pretty much going to be square and not really stretched. For the rears you can run 235/45 to 285/40. The 235's in the rear might have a slight stretch. Cant really estimate what size tires are going to fit without knowing the offsets on your rims and what vehicle this is going on.
