Question about tire size??

I need to know if a 225/45/17 is too wide of a tire for a 17x7 wheel?

I need to know what is the widest i can go. Right now i have 215/40/17 but want to fill wheel wells a little better. thanks for the help

you can put a 225-45 and not look tooo stoopid....

but i reccomend a 205-45 lol

But be careful, if youre running a 17x7 +40 225/45's wont clear coilovers up front.

I went in the middle with a 215... they are falken ziex 512's... I need the long tread life.
