question about the rb23 stroker deal?

hey i was looking at a local shop the other day and they had a rb20 crankshaft laying around and i heard some talk about people using them for a stroker kit i was wonering how much is involved is it worth it and what else would i need besides the crankshaft. how much power gains would i see cause i know if anything it will rev fast as **** and maybe a lil better rpm range

rb25 crank and rods into a rb20 yeilds a rb23.rb26 crank and rods and diffrent pistons yeilds a rb24.

with the rb25 crank and rods what kind of improvments would you be looking at?Would you be able to rev higher or lower etc.

um you would gain .3 liters of displacement?

Rev lower.

It will do 8500 RPM with upgraded valvetrain, that is plenty of RPM for a reliable street engine.

Don't forget to clearance the block when you install the rods.

when u say clearance the block what all is involved? and were might i get the main bearings and other small stuff for the reassembly of the crank

Try rotating the assembled crank and rods in the block and you'll see what needs to be done.

Just becareful I was going to do the RB22using the 82mm pistons that you need for the RB24, but if you wipe the motor there's not much room left to boreSo all i did was bore it .068 over to a RB20.5
