Its not going to affect your red line at all..Boring the block just means you can stuff more air/fuel in there and make slightly more power ,u have to buy over sized pistons to match the amount you bored it to.

Redline wont be affected at all....for you to ask such a question maybe you should reconsider this entire idea

Redline isnt determined by power...But by how fast the valve train can safely operate and other things im not sure about. But due to the long stroke on KA's they dont like high rpms.

I didint put you down....

boring out the block is not going to have any effect on your redline....Its just going to give you slightly more power because you can fit more air/fuel in there....Redline is limited by the Valve Train and Cylinder head design mostly on the KA. And then by the Rod stress.

Look at those if you want to increase your redline.

Are you going to turbo it? or are going with high comp pistons? are you runnig fuel management? what is your horse power goal? These are all things you need to consider before you buy the pistons.

honestly, i want to build the biggest and baddest. i wont be stroking and i will probly bore 20-40 over. it depends on what pistons i get. im trying to see if i can get any from friends.... ima try get high comp forged pistons and rods.. for the time being, and boost it and juice it later. my hp goal, i dont rele have one, just what ever it comes out to be. i rele wanna make an sr look sad. whats the best turbo? ima be running a 1mm copper head gasket. so im not worried about blowing that. but what should i get for rings? total seal?

Didn't see any put downs either. Just layin it down like it is. If you're looking to rev higher, your investment lies in more valvetrain, lighter reciprocating assembly and stronger rods.

Making an SR look sad will be tough. Plenty of 400hp+ badboys running around in daily driver form and another one that I know of that's beginning to hit the almost 1khp ball park. Making something like that look sad will be a tall order.

Best turbo - lurk moar. you'll need to decide how much lag you're willing to sacrifice for response, how much flow you have across the head, and how big your budget is.

rings - use the ones that came with your pistons. I used the rings that came with my CP's and they work just fine.

but how well will they work? i dont wanna shoot that first shot of nitrous and blow them. and see i dont know whether i wanna go fast, or have torque, i wanna be able to break free easily with an lsd. and then still be able to hit 160mph - 200mph. im sure this is possible though right? i have hit balpark of 130mph in my 89 sohc but i only know i was still accelerating well after the gauge maxed out at 115.
