I'm probably beating a dead horse here but I can't find what I'm looking for on the forums or my good friend google.

I read somewhere (obviously I could have been seeing things, drunk, tired, or just accepting knowledge from a 3rd party blindly) that the 3.5 and 2.5 have different CVT transmissions. Now my question stems from this.

Is there any website or information about the maximum power rating for the 2.5 CVT transmission? Or are thee any personal experiences with bolt ons that people can share about the number of bolt ons on their CVT. Not talking about crazy stuff like slapping a turbo on my 2.5 CVT, I know that would rape the face off the poor CVT. Just wondering if it could handle maybe 230-250 at the crank. It's a 2010 2.5 CVT if year matters much.

From what I understand you can't dyno a CVT so HP from bolt ons is estimated, just want to get an idea as to what I can do. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Please refrain from commenting like "LOL SHOULD HAVE GOT A 6MT" or "LOL SHOULD HAVE GOT A 3.5".

edit: maybe I should have posted this in the drivetrain forum -_-

all the bolts on the engine should not cause problems with your cvt and its not hp its torque that kills the transmission

I wonder about that dude with the white coupe that barely spoke English, exactly how much boost he was running on his 2.5 when it blew?

Well the reason I say that is then we could maybe guess at the HP/TQ he was putting out when it blew.

I wouldn't even bother. It's not a question of "if it will blow", it's "when will it blow".

7psi with spikes to 10 the whole kit was poorly put together i think that as long as crank tq stays below 230 you will be fine

that's reasonable, doubt I'd get near that high with basic mods anyways and not like I'm going to drop 4 grand of go fast parts into a 4 cylinder
