Question about sub box in my S13 coupe

Car: 1991 Nissan 240SX SE Coupe

Alright so iv got a 1991 240SX SE, and i just got a 12" MTX Thunder 9500 sub (retails for someting like 450 bucks??) and a sledgehammer box (also very pricey) (got them both for free )And hey, guess wat! The box dosnt fit. I was wondering if ic an make a new box and if it will really affect the sound greatly or if it will still be good? Or is there any specific design i should follow?

Well find out the specs to that sub and build yourself a box. great find by the way. What amp are you gonna push it with?
