First off i have a 1990 240 with the stock KA24E

After flip flopping upon whether or not to turbo my SOHC ka or get an SR i decided to go the SR. I have multiple questions so please bear with me. To start off im goin to buy a complete front clip from japan. Meaning i will get the A/C compressor dash power steering lines etc. Questions:

1.) Since it is from japan (steering wheel on opposite sides), will the steering lines still work or will i need to find a american ka24de for power steering lines.

2.) Does the wiring harness stretch out as far as the dash or what. About where does it end?

3.) I know I won't need the bracket for the a/c cause it all comes with a front clip, but will it work with the a/c lines that are already in my ka24e or will they need to be switched around?

4.) Might be stupid but does the SR bolt EXACTLY in to the chassis of my car or will modifications need to be made? Ex. Drive shaft shortend or made longer?

Im sorry if this has been stated b4 but i couldn't find exact answer when i searched and i searched for like an hour. Ive had this car for 2 years now and im under the hood all the time, whether it be to fix it or learn more about it im there so im confident enough to do the swap. I just don't wanna be surprised and not have the money if something spuratic comes up.

you are probably going to get flamed for not searching but I'll try to give you some answers. First off the SR drops right in and fits on you stock mounts The drive shaft will fit everything pretty much fits. Wiring is the worst part and it isnt that bad. You will need to either modify the PS lines or use the ones from a ka24de. Do a search, because really there are lots of guides out there for this swap and TONS of info, step by step.

PS lines from a SOHC wont work either because its on the opposite side. and RHD lines dont work either. wiring just requires color matching and extending with a few exceptions. drops right into the stock mounts. for your AC you will need to retain the DOHC KA compressor and have custom lines made.

i think the A/C flange from evaporator to compressor (the large line that come from the firewall). im not sure which other lines need to be customized, but when you do your swap, evacuate the system. you dont want to vent R-12 or R-134a into the atmosphere. best way to do this is to physically remove the compressor without disturbing the lines connected to it. leaving the system open to the atmosphere for more than a few minutes promotes moisture to build up, and thats bad if you plan on retaining your A/C.
