i put coolant in my radiator last night and it started leaking out of a nipple coming off the block. it is connected to a large hose connection that hooks up to a hose that runs to the heater core. anyway, i have no clue what this nipple is supposed to connect to. i checked all in there and it doesn't go to the motor, since it's coming out of the motor. doesn't go to the radiator, def doesn't go to the fuel rail or intake lines. i'm stumped. please help.also, i've got a nipple coming off the fpr and one off the intake. now i know there is supposed to be a hose connecting the two, but when my motor came in there was a y fitting connecting them, leaving one part of the fitting open.is there something else this should be connecting to or do i just run the fpr straight to the intake plenum?here are some pics to help you guys help me.

this is all i need to get my motor started!!

the FPR goes straight to the intake. unless you are running a boost gauge you can t it off and run the line three ways.

I can't really tell what the first picture is

that one circulates back up to the throttle. It plugs to the nipple furthest to the right if looking at the motor from the front. It is the one that is almost directly below the TPS.

The motor in that pic is clean!!!!

you're the second person say that, but i don't understand why coolant would run to the throttle body??also, the nipple furthest to the right i have running to my blow off valve because jeff from heavy throttle told me to hook it up to the larger nipple near the throttle body, so i figured that's what he was talkin about. is this wrong?

Yes, from a performance aspect it doesn't make sense to run coolant through the TB, but I believe the main reason is to prevent sticking of the TB during colder temperatures, as that would not be good!

I bypassed the line through the TB, and it turned out to be a huge mistake. Turns out the S14 SR uses a solenoid based on coolant temperature to set idle speed. After I bypassed the line, my idle was consistently ~2000 RPM. Re-connecting it, idle was perfect...

This is the reason why putting a bigger TB on the S14 SR is also a problem since the S13 SR and other models with larger TB's don't normally do this.

no he is right but we are talking about two different locations. on the s14 throttle there are 4 nipples (2 larger, to smaller) and then there are some pipes running from further back. one is for the IACV and the other is right next to it. They are both directly under the tps about 2-3 inches down. if you can get another pic I can ID it for you and you can get it set up.
