I just test drove a 2018 Murano Platinum. It appears to be in very excellent condition, clean Carfax with only 20k miles on the clock. Every thing seemed to check out on the test drive except....the outside sideview mirrors, on both sides, did not work correctly. When trying to adjust them, they were hesitant to move. If I pressed and held the button they would eventually move a little, but seemed intermittent. Are there known issues with the outside mirrors? Anyone else experience issues like this?

No known issues and no bulletins I can find. On a Murano with memory seats the mirrors are driven by the Auto Drive Positioner, which also drives the Tilt Wheel. If the wheel works normally then it won't be a power issue. When we see both mirrors failing like that, it's usually one of two causes, crud or kids. People who park in tree-sappy areas can have issues with the motors binding and eventually burning out. If the ones on that ride are still operating but badly, spraying a bunch of splat-remover behind the mirror, followed by soap and water and then WD40, will often fix them up. The other cause usually means new mirrors. The motors are meant for intermittent duty, and they don't last long when an overgrown 8-year-old owns the car and uses them for idle-hands toys.

Just heard from the dealer, their service department believes there is a short in the switch and they are replacing it.

That's possible too, since it's both sides. It isn't common, though. Someone may have spilled some pop or coffee on it.

They just called and said it is fixed. Going tomorrow morning for final look at it and probably buy it.
