Question about rust

Okay, I just bought myself a 240 fastback...It's in really good shape mechanically but it's got some rust on it. Actually quite a bit of rust on it. My question is, if i put side skirts and a whole body kit on it, would I be replacing the parts that are there or just covering them up? For example, the rockers need to be replaced, so could side skirts do that or are they just snap-on parts? I'm kinda stuck. Any help is greatly appreciated.
