a couple of dumb questions =) i ask because i get varied answers from ppl i've asked in real life so i wanna kno ur guys' answers to 2 questions:

first, how bad is it to hit around 6000 rpms while driving in a G35 for your engine and also wondering how bad it is for your car when you're driving, u rev in neutral (as you're moving, if it makes a diff). i got mixed answers so im wondering if u guys could answer those 2 questions, thx.

Welcome to NICO!

Your first question's answer is...as long as you're past the break-in, 6k is nothing for the VQ. You'll run into danger if you hit the rev. limiter, but Infiniti designed ours to cut fuel, vs a mechanical limiter...much nicer on the engine. Your second question answer is...why? Kind of pointless to rev in neutral, except to show off every now and then, which sorry to say but our cars don't have the kind of presence of say an 8-10 cyl car. But again, as long as you don't hit the limiter, no probs. Not really any difference...maybe a little better for the car as your not putting wear on the rest of the drivetrain.

thx for the reply, and rev limiter? as in the very end of of the rpm gauge? i think my redline starts at 6.5 so its ok to pass it as long as i dont reach the end of the gauge? and whY? an integra revv'd on me last night while i was in long beach and that made me wonder if it was ok to do it, so i just posted the question here, thats why
