I owned other Infiniti cars before my M35 and it seems that the ride quality on my m35 is harsher where my steering wheel shakes at times and it shakes when going over ruff spots on the road. Is this normal? I just got new rotors, tires, and just aligned the car.

You might have issues with thing like sway bar links, bushings, etc. which is why you're feeling more rattle/roughness in the steering wheel. How many miles on your car?

I would agree with Ilya, I have a M35 and it rode smooth as butter until I put 20's on it 3 weeks ago. The 20's are coming off because of that reason, I loved the way the car rode and handled before the addition of the rims.

Check the front shocks/struts as well. I was experiencing similar symptoms in my new to me 08 m35x with 87k last fall. Noticed the left front shock/strut was leaking. Turns out it was blown. I replaced all 4 and the ride greatly improved. Not as buttery smooth as I thought the M would be, however.
I also own a 05 G35 sedan with sport package and the M was the replacement for a 02 I35. The M rides more like the G than the I.

The M is not a boat like a Lexus ES/GS/LS...it's definitely more sporty. That being said, if you hear any kind 'clunking' while going over dips, etc. I'd bet the sway bar links are bad. I'm not sure of how to exactly test them...I'm the kind of car owner who will replace something at 80kmi just because it's a lot of miles, not because it's actually broken lol. I did a suspension refresh of links, bushings, etc. just cause and it certainly helped.

My 08 M35X needs front struts and rear shocks. I cannot locate a source for the fronts. Where can I get them? thanks

Front struts for sure. Swaybar links are there for cornering stability and when bushings wear they clunk. Before I replaced my completely blown front struts, my steering wheel was all over the place going over even the lightest bumps in the road.
