Hello, Last wekk I got a blacktop into my S14 and it runs flawlessly. ever since it has been in, if im idling then rev lets say to 5500RPM+ or just cruising at 3500RPM and press the clutch in to let the revs drop, the cars stumbles, and the RPM's drop to under 700. Sometimes the car dies and other times it will almost die then the RPM's come back to 1000 or so. Any ideas??

is ur bov open or recirculated? does it leak any at idle? mine did the same thing and my apexi BOV was leaking a little at idle so i tightened it up and it has done fine since. o and i have the same motor as u do too.

Mine acts similar- very picky about idle-ing smooth after revs

Check IACV and TPS voltage

I had a similar problem in my nissan p/u. It would idle real low and act as if it wanted to stall. I believe there is a loose connection in my MAF, because when I wiggle the wire or push it wire into the sensor the rpms jump right back up and idles fine.

Then again it could be a leaking BOV as well. Unmetered air is getting in a screwing with the fuel maps.

This is happening because your BOV isn't reciculated back into the piping (I am assuming that it isnt). When the excess air that the maf has already calculated is vented to the atmosphere, this causes an overly rich condition due to less air in the mixture causing the car to stumble before it then again corrects itself.

You can purchase an HKS EIDS. I have seen them on ebay. They just tell the o2 sensor that there isn't a rich condition, thus correcting your prob. They are usually around 100 bux used. Hope this helps and I havent bee talking in circles

It might be good idea to look into that before the BOV. Are you sure all of the wiring was done correctly IE soldered, shrinkwrapped? Were the shielded MAF wiring extended using shielded wiring?
