According to crutchfield.com if I remove my factory stereo and replace it with a different one then the signal that comes on when doors are open will no longer function. Anyone know if this is true?

I know that I would be hesitant to believe to word of a company that has only been in business since 1974, which is a mere 35 years.

The second strike is the fact that they advertise that they are "North America's Electronic Specialist since 1974."

The third strike for me would be on the Awards, Recognation, and Certifications page. Just a couple of awards have come their way.

What could they possibly know?

Hey--- wait a minute. I've changed my mind. I would believe them.

If that is what they told you, I would believe it.

hah yeah I've purchased from crutchfield before and they're always great, I just didn't know if Nissan would really put those two features together like that.

I even called them so that they can explain it better and they said if you replace the factory stereo you will lose that door feature. So that if a door is open the car "will not" tell you.
