Your regular tools, alan key will remove it, but you have to put some serious force to remove them, you will break the alan key before you strip the bolts , believe me, I broke two alan sockets on one head and the bolts were still in perfect shape.Carefully when you try to remove them, if the alan key broke your body will be flying across about 5 feet from the force you put into it, it happened to me lol

wow, glad mine weren't so bad.. I have some allen sockets and used an adapter and socket gizmo now that I think about it (was thinking I was using my 3/8 18" drive long socket wrench but now that I think about it, I was using a bigger wrench with the jack handle on it.. I used the other thing on the cam towers.. editing post to correct myself)

hot it, i used a friend's alan socket that wasnt tapered at the tip and my 18" 1/2in socket wrench and it just made those things cry. i cried too when i took off the head...

you could eat off cylinders 1,2 and 3, but #4 is looking a bit worse for wear. the top of the piston is flaking apart and the valves are all corroded and look like they have cauliflower (sp?) or a fungus growing on them. maybe the injector was stuck? the head gasket was also shot, leaking oil down the side of the block. it was a fun sight, let me tell you.

those sockets are the ticket, remember, you have to torque the head back on with a torque wrench.

I used a regular allen wrench with a breaker bar. Came right loose. I'll have to buy some tools to put the head back on so I can torque it right.
