I'm swapping out ka for ka and trying to remove as much unneccessary things in the proccess. I was wondering about taking off the "EGR and canister control solenoid valve" and the "SCV control solenoid valve". They are the two plugs on the back of your motor and they go to the carbon canister. We plan on removing the carbon canister so can we just take those two plugs off as well? Or should we just block the vacuum hoses that used to go to the canister and just plugs these guys back in? From what we can tell from reading the FSM it probably won't do anything, but we just want to make sure. Any help is appreciated.

Hey man, I swapped out my motor for a fresher one, both de's, and forgot to plug in the two plugs in the back of the motor, the one's directly behind the valve cover, which is the one's that I believe you are talking about. Anyway long story short, car wouldn't crank until I plugged them in. I don't know what signal they send, but I about lost my mind until I realized that they were not plugged in, afterwards, car cranked right up. As far as removing them, I would guess some kind of ecu problem occuring, i.e. not starting.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm in the middle of right now. Ok so these plugs need to be plugged to start but what about the vacuum lines that went to the carbon canister? Is it cool to just block those off? Thanks for the help.

I'm assuming you are talking about the vacuum lines on the back of the head.... they are all emissions crap. there is, however a vacuum line that taps off of that and goes to the FPR. Follow the lines back until you find where it goes into the manifold. Take that line and go directly to the FPR. Once you have done that, you don't need any of those lines or plugs. If you don't do that, then you're car won't start because the FPR won't open, therefore, no gas.
