Hey, some guy wants to sell me high compression pistons, 11.6:1 on standard bore. He said he'll sell it to me for 250-300. How much horse power would i get out of it and is it worth it, or how much should they be worth?

they probably are the sohc pistons, but there are several errors in his ad.

-you won't reach 200hp by just raising your compression.-the pump gas being used had better be 93 octane.-for every point of compression raised you get a 4-5% increase in hp.-the 11.6:1 compression is with stock bore only. if you bore 0.02" over the compression is 11.7:1 and 11.8:1 for 0.04" over.-you won't see a 32hp increase at the crank with a stock engine.

if someone spends $225 for those pistons, give me a call. i've got some sand from iraq that'll help keep your engine from detonating.

sohc pistons can be had for less than $35 each. just shop around.

Yeah I bought mine for 40 bucks for all four, so 10 a piece. But they are the ones that raise the compression to 11.1:1, not 11.6:1

Did you feel a lot of power from them after putting them in?

I haven't had a chance to put the pistons in yet. My project KA24DE is sitting in pieces right now in my garage. Half way through its rebuild.
