Last August I purchased a new G35 Coupe, 6MT.. Hearing from some that the engines in these cars do use some oil (more than perhaps what I was used to in my previous, non-Infiniti car), I have been trying to carefully monitor the oil usage. Without listing here all the details of quite a few measurements I have made and logged in a spreadsheet (I can in a later post if someone wants to hear that), what I find when I add a very precise number of ounces of oil is that the oil does not climb on the dipstick as much as I would expect if the distance between the L (low) and H (high) marks on the dipstick represents one quart... My question is does someone know how much oil it should take to move the level from "L" up to "H"... Is it one quart or maybe 1.5?? Maybe 2?? New to this forum... Looks like a lot of good info here... Any help would be much appreciated... bob...

teh last time i checked my oil it was in between the l and the he marks on the dipstick and i added a half quart and it was at the h level so i would say the difference between the l and the h marks are about one quart

hopes this helps

The difference is 1qt. Has been on most cars I have seen and changed/checked oil on.
