Hi All,

I just had 4 new brake pads installed and all the rotors turned. I was experiencing strong vibrations while breaking and all 4 pads were at 2mm minimum spec level or lower.

Anyway, my question is about how to care for these new brakes. I Googled around for some advice on how to break in these new pads and received contradictory information. One site said to avoid hard stopping for the first few hundred miles. Another site said to do the exact opposite for the first hundred miles.

Just wanted to see what y'all recommend. I want these things to last me for a while since brakes aren't exactly cheap Thanks.

They need to bed the pads/rotors here are some links on how to properly do this.

The stop tech link provides the best info. Check out the other links on the botom of the page.

Avoid "panic braking" for the first 300 miles in order to properly burnish the new friction surfaces to each other. Beyond that, there isn't much maintainence other than changing them when the need changing and having the system flushed every 30k or so.
