I'm planning on putting in an entirely new system in my car, does anyone have any suggestions? I usually listen to rap, and I want something that hits hard. Do you think a 12" sub would be enough? Any suggestions would be really appreciated

you re asking the wrong questions in the wroooong forums. not a good way to start off a nico membership with led light and sub qs.....these forums are about cars, not what junk you can slap onto them to look like some cars you see on vin diesels wall.

I bought my car with two 12's. I kept them in for a couple of months, because I didn't know better. Now I'm ashamed.

a properly engineered sub box with a 8, 10, or 12 is plenty. its all in the box.

w3rd.

I got by on a single 10" Arc Audio sub & accompanying Arc Audio amp in my old Prelude, sounded absolutely fantastic.

I mean yeah, I won't win any spl competitions, but that shxt is retarded anyway. Systems are for music, not for seeing who can hit the lowest tones.

I went with a 350watt 12 and a 400 watt amp because i got them both for 50$.

If you lay the sub down on its back with the angle toward you it hits harder and sounds better then any other way i have tried.

I put screws in the side of the box with zip ties to mount it to the rear of the car D : so it doesnt slide to me under breaking.

Music is very important while performance driving, heightens your senses and reactions and such. So yeah, Rock on bishez.

Yeah i think 1 12" in the right box sounds amazing but you should also upgrade all your speakers and put an amp to them rap has a lot of things you can't hear unless you put an amp to the highs. Don't get scared away by people **** talking about systems..... i guess with some people it automatically makes you a ricer....... but yeah post this in the audio forum or if a mod sees this please do so... also check out my setup i posted on the car audio as "my box i built a few weeks ago." But yeah like i said 1 12' with the right box and a good amp should slam pretty good.

One 12 isnt enough? I had an Orion H2 that could handle 5000 watts peak in a Subzone enclosure, and it was WAY more than enough. It was powered by a 2500 watt RMS Hifonics amp, but I eventually got sick of the extra 100 pounds the sub and box added to my car. I can guarantee that it was way more bass than anyone could handle on a daily basis.

deam you people you dont know what a sound system is man. Having a sub box that shakes the hole car is not a system that is S**T I have subs in my car but i also have speakers that make my ears blead from the mids and the highs.

I have a JL 10w3v2 and a JL 500/1 amp.. it hits plenty hard enough for me.. but nothing compared to my friends JL 12w7 and JL 1000/1 amp.

Ask "what should I get" and you will get millions of answers.

Go to an audio shop and listen to equipment within your pricerange. View some demo cars. Then, make an appropriate decision for what you are trying to accomplish.
