Question about new clutch

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I just installed a new clutchmaster III and now my stick shift is really difficult to put into 1st gear. how can i fix this problem? Do I need new trany fluid or what. I just changed the trany fluid about 2 years ago. Or should i mess with the clutch engagement. What do you guys think.
