yes, but you don't need to floor it to get max power. You must really like your CVT, redlining it until you get offVersaMitch wrote:I imagine that this is correct but I wanted to double check. When I'm full throttle in my Versa with CVT the RPMs sit at red line until I get off it. Is this normal?
lolz, yea try to keep away from redlining it, 5000 or 5500 RPMs is good enough to get max power and torque, trust I should know, where I live I need to do it with the freeway next to my house having entrances that are 5 feet long to get to freeway speeds.TweeKeer wrote:yes, but you don't need to floor it to get max power. Thank you, I'll try that...BBISHOPPCM wrote:This is normal. If you're crawling at 15mph, turn off the overdrive. If this doesnt solve it, lock into first (that's why we have a first gear selection).
I would think that nothing would have to be done. Isn't turning off your overdrive a thing you do when you are towing? I have never seen another reason to turn it off.BBISHOPPCM wrote:This is normal. I have another issue with the CVT.. My V now has 1300 miles on it but back at 500 miles in the morning when the vehicle is cold I remember hearing a slight tapping sound upon the vehicle shifting to reverse or drive. I didn't do anything about it because I thought the trans had to be broken in and that the sound would go away, but now at 1300 miles I hear the same sound but now louder and I noticed that when I'm rolling to a stop light, just when the vehicle is about to downshift I can hear the noise then too( not as loud). Anyone had a problem like this???BBISHOPPCM wrote:This is normal. If you're crawling at 15mph, turn off the overdrive.
