Hi, im new to the forums and fairly new to 240s (this is my first one)

I bought a '91 240sx about a month ago and its been runing perfectly. I've decided since the car has such low mileage (43k) that I'd like to put some effort into this car and mod it. I was talking to one of my friends and he recommended i convert it to a manual (its an automatic). I have always wanted manual too its just that when i saw this car for sale it seemed like such a great bargain to pass up.

Now i really have no idea what the process is or what it entails or the cost for that matter. Could anyone tell me or direct me the process of converting it? Or is it just not worth it? thanx

Oh yeah...sorry if im posting in the wrong forum..i hope this is the right one?

If you dont feel comfortable performing the swap, i know of a few people that can do it in the SW VA area

well i definatly dont feel comfortable doing it myself...i was intending on finding some people who could do it. Thanx for the offer. Right now i dont think the conversion is gonna be the first thing ima do....simply because of the cost. Im gonna be working on some other things first (window tint and rims this saturday). How much would a manual conversion cost?

Damn! You're in Fairfax. I'm like two counties over in Loudoun. I could get you some help with that. It's definately worth it. A stock manual transmission won't cost you more than $500-$600.

o wow that close huh. thats good to know. $500-600 for transmission doesnt sound that bad. But some of my friends are tellin me its not worth it simply because the work would cost more than the car. He also said it'd be a waste cuz my car would only be a 4 speed...dont know exactly what he meant. how is this? Sorry for the noob question...im still tryin to learn about my car and how i can make it better.

5spd swap = 5 speed.. auto= 1st 2nd drive reverse neutral park so, 3spd automatic. 99% sure S13 is the same. I don't know what that guy is talking about.. Maybe he has a newer 4spd automatic car..

Well, it's whatever you want to do. I say it's worth it.
