Oil requirements are listed in your owners manual. It's 5W-30. Look at chapter 9 and it goes over all fluid and lubricant recommendations.

For maintenance schedules you can refer to: http://www.infinitig37.com/maint-sched.html

I don't know about recommendations in LA but I suggest Hawk pads. Get with Mike at tunerzstore.com for the parts.

In April 2009 with 85k miles on my previous 06 G35 I had the dealer replace the brake pads and cut the rotors on all 4 wheels. I was charged $529.00. Expensive yes but that same set of brake pads was still on my G35 when I traded it in on Aug 31st 2012 with 171796 miles.
The job was done right the first time and never had another brake problem except for a sticking rear caliper at 158k miles in January last year.
I decided not to spend the money for another set of pads and possible rotors and a few other items and instead bought my 2012 G37S

Funny Story,
so I went to Glendale Infiniti before i had to drive from LA to San Francisco for check up for the brakes and stuff before the long drive, they said you have left with around 1200 miles on the rear breaks, and around that i had to do the oil change etc.
then i asked you guys lots of questions about brakes,
I was driving to SF, using a lot of brakes on the highway, going to Napa traveling with my girlfriend there, back to San Jose, and back to LA, around 1300 miles.
Because of some plans I had, I went to Miller Infiniti on Van Nice, also the place i bought the car from, I told them I need to do oil change and rear breaks, (I listen to telcoman) after an hour or so the say it's finish and only 85 $, then I asked about the breaks, they said there is no need to replace, you can drive another 5K miles on those.....

There is only 1 explanation for this! it's the brakes miracle!!!

I had mine write that the rear brakes needed replacement "soon" on a bill following a visit. I didn't see it and they didn't verbally tell me. This was the wife's sedan and I had requested a complete brake job on it when I bought it used and I didn't expect it would need brakes so soon. So, I'm driving and I feel pulsing from the rear and figure the rotors are warped or something else was wrong. Didn't have time to do it myself so I dropped it off and they call to tell me I had eaten the rotors down to the vanes.

Kinda embarrassing as I try and stay up on maintenance. I pay better attention to the print outs now :)

Oh, and I found out they had only done the front brakes instead of all 4 as i had requested when purchasing the car. :tisk:

Mistakes happen.

ive used both Royal Purple and Penzoil Ultra... I was a RP only guy for a while til one day i couldnt get RP, and couldnt wait for an oil change as I was about to go on a road trip. I tried Penzoil Ultra and was suprised that the engine had the same if not very simular effects as when i ran RP. (Super quiet engine at warm ilde, Cold start up snarl from engine was much shorter, and improved highway MPG) Thus i been using Penzoil Ultra for $25 (walmart) for 5 quarts vs $50 for 5 quarts of RP. you cant go wrong with RP though.

I like Mobil 1. It is everywhere, it is cheap(ish) and works well in new engines.

I'm using Nissans ester oil (PN-999MP-5W30EP). It is about the price of RP but it was specifically designed to work with the VVEL engines. In 2008 Infiniti tried to tell people they had to use it and people hated it, so they came out with a timing modification but it is not the same. There is a nano-particle within the base oil that adheres to rotating engine components and sticks there longer, decreasing wear on cold startup. It is also designed to decrease heat and friction which should improve fuel economy. I think it works and plan on using nothing but that in my G with 5K intervals and never...ever any chemical additives. We will see how that turns out.

Also I add a quart of ester to my Mazda to keep the timing chain slack adjuster quite and it really works well. I do not often let it fully warm up and the ester has made a big difference.
