Alright I have a 93 hatch 240sx bone stock. I was dealing with power loss (bogging) on and off with the car. I decided to try cleaning the MAF. well while trying to clean it I broke it. The car idled wierd and didnt go past 2500 rpms. I drove the car home (about 20 min) like that. I then bought a used MAF out of a 93 altima with the same motor (ka24de). I installed it and my idle got worse and it stalls out at stop lights. however I now have my full rpm band back. The car is also running very rich blowing a ton of black smoke. Are the altimas and 240s interchangable? I then took apart my old MAF and put it back together soldering the parts the way they should have been. I installed it and it runs exactly the same as it does with altima MAF. do my MAFs work now and there is a new problem? the car ran great besides the random power losses before I messed with the MAF.

search titles for altima maf

Okay, I finally found the answer to my question.Since the 2nd generation (98-01) USDM Altima's were equipped with the KA24DE engine block similar to the (95-96) 240sx S14, the MAF sensors are identical.

The 240sx/Altima MAFs compatibility also holds true for the 1st generation (93-97) Altima and the 91-94 240sx equipped with the KA24DE.

Just some thoughtful advice for those of you needing to replace your KA's MAFs

alright so if there compatible than what could my problem be? it ran fine until the MAF went bad. could I have damaged something while driving like that?

dumb ? are all the hose and vacuum line back on? is the intake hose cracked?? how do you know the swapped MAF is any good?? the only way to check one is with an osliscope any unmetered air getting into engine after MAF will make car not run right
