question about license plate light

yes it's illegal, but i wud think it depends on how blue, cuz technically blue even on headlights are illegal, but mostly cops don't bother issuing tickets for that because some OEM headlamps exude bluish hue light. Take for example Lexus or BMW, i see that alot, even in maxima's. And regarding the Lexus, the license plates are also like blueish, but not full blue, I would go with like Hyper White, i think that shld be fine.
