i put a ka24de engine into my 89 240 and my gauges arnt working. my tach isnt working and my speedo isnt reallly either, i heard that they needed to be swaped out when doing the swap so im wondering if i need to swap the wiring harness for the instrement cluster or the cluster istself? i looked and i think the clusters are the same between the years but not sure,

I'm pretty sure it's the cluster you need to swap.

All but one of my gauges didn't work when I did the same swap into my 90. The tach had a different signal, but I got one pulled from a junk car. I've heard of the speedo not working before, but luckily I didn't have the problem.

youre Speedo should work. the only thing that didn't work on my swap was the tach. i just purchased an aftermarket one and that solved the problem. My problem is my car misses at idle and on slow acceleration, but not all the time, (it seems to be getting increasingly worse though)
