My Mom's 2000 Grand Prix GT came stock with Denso Iridium's. The car has 110,000 miles, and they are still origional. We are only now gearing up to replace them, (the rear ones look like a pain in the a**). Car runs like a raped date. The only reason we want to change them is that we are at the limits of our knowledge as to how long they will actually last, or if they will last longer, will they just be less efficient than new, IDK. After this many miles, might as well replace them. After we do change them, I'm gonna read them just out of curiosity. I have heard of platinums plugs lasting 100k in other engines, and thats not even Iridium.

Another reasoning, if someone is building thier engine up, they might not want to spend on Iridiums right away because they should be reading thier plugs as they go along to make sure they are in the correct heat range. Iriduim's are too expensive to be test mules.
