Fixed the fuel pump issue, now on to changing the water pump, thermostat, coolant and belts. Ok, so new water pump comes with 4 new "studs" that mount on the snout of the pump...any advice on how to get that stud threaded into position? We cant seem to get it all the way threaded to the stopping point ... anyone following me??? Maybe we are just overthinking this but I dont want to strip it. Thanks

Thread 2 nuts on to about the middle of the stud, tighen them together with a pair of wrenches, and then tighten the outside nut only.

Got it. Thanks. The right tools always make the job easier.... it would really help if I had a better understanding of how the coolant system actually works, not to sound like a idiot, but how do you know the coolant is truly circulating??

As long as the water pump is not leaking the cooling system is working (assuming new Tstat).. page LC-7 in the FSM (http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Q45/1994_Q45/lc.pdf) shows a decent diagram on how the system works.
