First and most importantly, how do I remove the window and regulator assembly? It looks like I need to remove the window first, and then the regulator assy will come out by pulling four nuts, but I cannot get the damn window out! There are two stoppers on either side of the window with a bracket keeping them from coming out... so I turned those over so they are not keeping the window from coming out anymore. Then I noticed there is a little metal tab on each rail stopping the window from coming out, so I bent those out of the way. I also removed the outside door seal, because it looked like it might be in the way, but something is still stopping the window from rolling out... wtf am I missing? It's so hard to see down in there, so that doesn't help.

Also, less important but probably more of you know the answer to; Do I need this plastic in here for any reason? Or can I just pull it out and clean up the glue. The glue is disgusting, sticky, and has even dripped down off the door onto the doorsill...

oh f*ck... I think it just hit me. The window is bolted to the regulator too... so I have to remove those bolts. If this sounds correct please say "yes" and I will go to bed knowing that I can do this tomorrow. lol

If all it does is keeps noise down, then I don't care... I'm removing all the sound deadening within the next couple of weeks, so I'm ok with there being a little extra noise. However, I think I have heard it referred to as a moisture barrier... I life in Oregon so there definitely is some moisture here, If it keeps my door panel from getting soggy I think that would be worth it.

Yes on the bolt question. You need to remove those two bolts on either bottom side of the window. The glass needs to come out before the regulator. Once you figure it out, it's cake.

About the plastic, keep it. It is definitively more of a moisture barrier than for wind. Just replace that nasty glue with some RTV silicone or something similar that will stick.

Yeah, the plastic definitely helps with both exterior noise, wind noise, and moisture barrier (because water will leak in from the exterior of the window)
