Yes I've searched

Anyways my question is if I bought a Skyline, Silvia, or 240sx in Canada would I be able to just drive it through the border to the US?

You could drive it in the states, but you still couldn't register it there.

A 240SX would be fine though. The only differenced between the USDM and CDM S13's were KM/H speedo and no retractible seatbelts.

Buddy of mine, about 6 years ago bought a CDM 240 and brought it in no-prob.

Skyline, still not happening.

In 2011 when the 1996 R33 Skyline is legal in Canada because of their 15yr rule, would it be legal then to bring it to the states if all the paperwork was good bringing it from Japan to Canada? I know that only 1/96-6/98 R33 are the only Skylines that are legal to be imported, but assuming any laws dont change can we just pick them up from Canada in 2011? Or is that rule only for Japan to USA? I know that it will still have to be converted to OBD II though and the other mods, etc.

It is the coming into the U.S. that is the problem, doesn't matter where it comes from.

The U.S. has a 25 year rule. Canada is a country, not a continent, and each country has its own rules.

You have to wait till 2020 for it to be eligible with no restrictions for the U.S. After that year, just get an importer and bring it in.
