im planing on buying the splitfire kit for my engine, a '95 s13 blacktop. i need to buy a new ignitor for the motor also. but does the control case in the splitfire kit or would an aftermarket ignition box like the hks twin power do the same job as the ignitor chip. i just dont want to buy two parts that do the same thing.

The Splitfires need the ignitor still. The little control box you see with the Splitfire kit is a little amplifier. The HKS Twin Power takes the place of the ignitor I think (never looked much into it). I have Splitfires and an AEM C2DI (replaced ignitor and splitfire amp).

I have and love the splitfires. I dont think anything more is necessary on this side of 400+ hp.

I also have a spare ignitor i need to get rid of .
