I am planning on hooking up my system to my stock head unit temporarily, until I can afford to buy a navigation screen. To my stock head unit (non-bose single disc) I am going to be connecting a 4-Channel Amp and a Mono Amp. The 4-Channel Amp is designed to work with stock HU's and comes with adapters that will connect the speaker wire to RCA inputs.

I am confused in how to hook up the subwoofer and mono amp. Do I connect the front speakers as usual to the 4-channel and marry the rear speaker wires so that one line goes to the mono amp and one line to the 4-channel? If this is not the way to do it, can one of the experts (apple or doc!!!) please help me out! Thanks.

what 4 channel amp do you have because I can't find one that works with our headunit.

I bought the Pioneer Premier PRS-D4200F. Any amp should be able to connect to the stock head unit with a converter, but Premier advertises OEM integration as a feature.

See page 9 of the owner's manual for the pioneer 4-channel amp. There is a pair of RCA outputs. You should be able to connect those to the 2-channel amp. However, I think that might send a full range signal, so make sure the 2-channel amp has a low pass filter on it (set no higher than 200 Hz, but I would recommend lower depending on how deep your interior speakers can play). For reference, my sub has a low pass set around 70 Hz (I don't remember exactly without looking at it, but it's definitely around that number).

Sorry to ask in here but where do you hook up the remote on wire coming from the Amp?

There should be a remote turn on lead coming from the head unit (I think most wiring harnesses have this as blue - but don't quote me on that).

If you still have a factory HU, you can just tap into the accessory power (only on when the car is either turned on or in accessory on position). I'd have to check the wiring diagram to tell you exactly what wire that is though.
