this all stems from a clogged and rotted cat.was gona jus gut my cat and roll that way but found out due to closer inspection that it actually has 2 half inch holes in it. Was gona take the route of getting a new cat for $90 from auto zone....but since im getting a full cat back here in the next couple weeks(hopin to have it within the next 4-5 weeks, maybe 6) i was gona jus slap a test pipe on there. Then after doin a lil ebay searchin-found a couple hi-flo cats for same price(some were cheaper).

Now, with all that bein said... i am currently still ridin with a OEM exhaust. Is it possible to throw a test pipe or a hi-flo on with my OEM exhaust?? i was told that the flanges will be the same size and should bolt up fine....but what am i in for in terms of the 3" cat replacment runnin into my OEM. Will this cause any probs?? as i stated-im gettin a 3" cat back here pretty soon and gota get this out the way anyway-so why not jus get it now. thanx to any and all that can help me out with this problem.

Stock KA with basic bolt-ons will not make that much hp to the point where you need a test pipe, unless you are going to get fart can exhaust and test pipe so your car will backfire. And choose whichever you want if where you live does not require emission test.

But it is your car. Do what you want.

3" flanges work with the stock exhaust.Mine had a 3" NISMO test pipe. I cut it up to weld in a high flow cat because the exhaust smell was unbearable... On my at every stop light, on my clothes, etc.

I definably recommend a high flow cat with 3"flanges, weld away.

I run a full 3" straigt pipe. if ur not woried about noise or emissons then u can run a test pipe but if u are then my suggestion is to either run a exhust with a silencer or u can get a 3" magnaflow high flow cat which is what my buddy runs on his

I ran a test pipe for awhile just make sure your flanges are good and that the flanges on the test pipe are thick. I didnt smell any difference with the test pipe in as long as you make sure its not leaking you should be fine.

I run test pipes on both my s13's. it would be the way to go. not much of a difference in power, but it sounds better and is cheaper then most cats. I keep a 3" high flow cat on the side just encase they try to give me a hard time during my yearly inspection, but they never do.
