Question about headlights.

So, i need a new headlight, but all the parts of the old headlight work. Just the cover is broken.
I have HID's on my car and to buy a completely new headlight assembly costs around $900 at the dealer.

Can i instead buy the halogen headlight assembly ($140) and just take out all the lamps and put in the Lamps, wires and computer of the HID in the Halogen cover? Or is there something special done to the HID cover?

Just look up altima coupe headlight on ebay. There are plenty of people just selling the shells on there from between 150-300 dollars. Thats what I did when my headlight broke and then I just installed the ballast and bulbs etc from the original headlight into the one I bought off ebay. Save yourself some money and the housing for the HID's.
