Hello,

This evening one of the bulbs on the headlight stopped working. It is the low beam (running light) on the drivers side.

The high beam/parking lights etc work fine. I was wanting to know the part no of the bulb. The more i researched the more i got confused.

I was looking at different websites and i could see bulbs from 50$-300$ and i was not sure what kind of bulb is required.

1. In a 2003 infiniti G35 4D sedan are the bulbs Halogen or HID? I am looking at the OEM website i.e. Sylvania and it is asking me to choose one out of the above 2 options. The owners manual states H1-55W low beam.

Can someone pls guide me so that i can purchase the right bulb?

I read the FAQ section about replacing the bulb and then checked under the hood. I am a little confused.

I saw bolts in there and no screws...the original post says that the only tools reqd are flat head screw driver and phillips head screw driver.

Do we have to remove the bumper????? I was totally clueless about how i'd reach the headlight area and replace the worn out bulb.

Any help/input is appreciated.

well if your g35 came with factory HID's then you're bulb size is D2R with a 4100K temperature...its pretty easy to get to the bulb...if your right headlight is HID then that means your car came with HID's from the factory...though it is rare to see a G35 with halogen bulbs.

I am a little confused...the infiniti technician said its HID D2S ($240 each)and the Sylvania website says HID D2R and i called up an auto shop and the rep said that D2R and D2 S are different. ...both cost $120 each at the local auto shop.

As long as i get a pair and replace both sides, does it matter if i get DsR's or D2S's? I'm planning on getting a pair online. I see that someone got a pair of phillips HID's for less than 100$
