question about gas

just got a coupe but will need to fill her up soon. would using regular gas be fine?

If you have the 4-banger, then regular is fine; however, if you have the V6, it is recommended that you use premium.

91 or above is recommended for the 3.5 but 350Z tests show no decrease in performance or mileage with 87 vs 91..I'll take a look and see if I can find the test docs..I fill mine with premium however (94).

There may be little to no difference in power using 91 to 87 gas but the differnce comes 5 years down the line. With higher octane, there is a lesser chance of engine knocking, which in turn will keep your car healthy.

Running regular gas in the 3.5 engine is just fine. Engines now have knock sensors that prevent knocking and sophisticated computers that maximize performance no matter what grade of gas you're running. For more info I found this article on the net:
