I am going to be using an fmu for the first time because all the other tuning ways are overwhelming for a novice so thats why im going FMU.

Do you guys think that a 8:1 is enough for a RBturbo? its rather big it is a T3 turbo specs are somwhere i dont have them on me at the time i will post them in a minute when i find them thanks and have a good day

8:1 is what you want. Dont push more than 7-8 psi on a FMU setup, retard your base timing 2-3 degrees and enjoy.

Thanks 480 for the quick reply

Heres some specs that i found courtesy of AutoSpeed

The RB25DET turbocharger employs a 60mm compressor inlet and a 38mm discharge nozzle. The compressor housing is identified with a 0.40 A/R. On the exhaust side, the turbine inlet passage is 65 x 45mm and the mounting flange measures 110 x 70mm. The turbo connects to the exhaust manifold with 4 bolts and the dump pipe is attached by 6 bolts.

might want to put a walbro 255 on that list just incase but, yeah, pull a couple degrees and dont run more than 8psi. My first setup was t25, smic, fmu, walbro, and pulled a couple degrees. Daily drove her for a year and a half no problems.

Glad to see another single cam getting boost.

i guess i should get a walbro since a 18+year old pump might be worn out i will start my own thread later when i start fabbing the manifold.

Its not a you should thing, its a you have to thing. Stock FPs suck, especially with a FMU where your asking your pump to create close to 100 psi of pressure at times.

Don't mean to thread jack, but what FMU is ideal for a T3/t4 .50?

OP: Good luck with the set up and Enjoy your boost.

8:1 heh. Having a wbo2 would always be nice for any turbo setup but an 8:1 seems to work for most people.

yes the 8 to 1 will be fine for your app, dont forget to install a walbro 255 pump aslo. need that with the extra fuel pressure for a added security measure, ur using a rb25 turbo correct? nice sized base t3 turbo, 75-7psi will be perfect fpr the turbo on your ka
