Hey guys, I just got a 1994 NA 300zx 2 seater for a daily and it's f*** great except for a couple electrical problems and the driver's door. The window has fallen down and broken, the door won't lock, and the panel is falling off. So overall, I've just decided to grab another door off a part out or something.

So here's my question: What years/body style could I swap with? It looks like 1990-2000ish could swap with me, but does anyone know if a 2+2 door would fit my 2+0? And would it matter if the car I swap with doesn't have T-tops like mine?

Also, anyone have experience with how easy it would be to swap locks?

Thanks!

Hello Soxman, welcome to the community. To quickly answer your question, no. The roofline is different on the 2+2 and the door is also physically longer. I'm not entirely sure about this but I think the door is also different in other standards because it'll have to flow with the longer body lines and with that, electrical components would be placed in different places. I think it's best that you get a 2+0 door if you're going that route. As for locks, I wouldn't think that'd be vastly hard but I've never tried since I never had these problems with my car. Hope this helped and I welcome you to the NicoClub (Z32) community.

I'd personally fix what I had. You'll run into fitment issues and everything with swapping for an entirely different door. And then there's the matter of the wiring. Long story short, replace what you have. Pull the door card off, see what you're working with, and move from there.

Here's the problem with your lock, though:

It is a bit of a PITA to get to, but the cast aluminum piece won't break like the plastic.

I have fitted a 2+2 door on a 2+0, I had to swap the 2+0 window over and needed to trim the top part of the door down to fit. It can be done if your willing to do the extra work
