Question about digital Speedometer

I was wondering, when you take a digital speedometer out of the cluster, is it susposed to have the burn marks in the right corners of the glass? My old one did, and it didn't work, so we bought another cluster, but the digital speedometer in this one, also has burn marks on the glass. I haven't tried to see if it works yet, i was just wondering if that's susposed to be there.

The "burn" marks (usually 2) are normal. They are part of the manufacturing process of the display. If the marks are black the display is Ok - if they become whitish then the display has lost its vacuum. We repair many digital instrument clusters visit http://www.mrwhizard.com
