I know its been asked many times, I searched and searched but couldnt find what I wanted to know. I know all about taking out the Y-pipe thing and the box thing behind the drivers side fender, I was just wondering about cutting the hole in the intake box itself

What part of the box should I put the hole on? I know the bottom half but should I put it on the side that faces the front of the car or the side that faces the bottom? Also how big of a hole should I make, sorry if this was all already asked but I couldnt find nothing when I searched

cant you just attach the air filter to the top half of the air box instead of cutting it up?

Why don't you just use the two holes yielded by removing the Y-pipe and the other pipe leading from the airbox to the resonator. It doesn't make any sense to me to cut a hole when there are already two there for you.

Or, for a little money but less than a full CAI, buy a cone filter, remove the airbox and attach the filter to the piping from the intake manifold. You make your own short ram air filter. :)
