question about coils pack for my CA18DET

Hi, i need help... i am having a real problem finding a set of coil packs for my CA18DET, i found a coil pack for a CA18T.I can find enough information of the CA18T, i was wondering if i can use those ignition coils on my CA18DET.or evene better where can i found a coil pack for a CA18DET in NY or nearby, it really urgent and i really would appreciate any help...thanksJC

You can get them at your local parts store. Tell them you want coil packs for 1988 Nissan Pulsar nx se. They are pretty pricey though.

Yes, but those two things are very expensive. Those you would want to get them from either your local junkyard or another member on here.

thanks, i appreciate the info. dont neen the ignition chip or cas though, just the four ingniton coils.but its strange my brother is looking for auto shops in NY and they pretty much havent heard about the CA18DET... they have offer him the igniton coils of an 300zx... or the ignition coils of a CA18T... I also contact someone in the forum but could never made the transaction... know any one that could offer me a set of 4 coil pacs

The ca18det was never offered in north america, that's why they dont' know what you're talking about.

If you ask for for '89 pulsar nx se parts, it's from a ca18de which shares many components with the ca18det, including the coil packs.

They may mean the ca18et which was offered in the S12 200sx. Those are different coil packs. The ca18et doesn't use a coil on plug configuration, it's got a distributor. I dunno about the 300zx tho.

If you are finidng it very hard to find, you can also use an external coil pack arrangement, this has been performed many times in australia, I have also performed this modification myself.
