Hey im new to these forums but im not new to 240 scene..

Ok but back to my question im about to pick up a 240sx for cheap and im just using it as my daily beater, i work less than 2 miles from my house so i wanna make this car mean and cheap! i was browsing ebay and saw these "coilovers" Or coil kit for like $40 buy it now... I know there probably POS's but im not gonna spend $800 for a coilover kit just to slam the car.. Has any body used these before? Any issues with them? This car is gonna be pretty much a project ebay car ill let everyone know how things go...

Please no Newbie bull cause i have been in the nissan and toyota game longer than alot of people on here! im just new to NICO

You're going to get a lot of 'you get what you pay for', and 'don't cheap out on suspension' comments.

My buddy with an integra keeps buying springs/coils from ebay. Notice I said KEEPS, in other words it's not worth it.

They almost always ride like ****. Looking at the springs scares the hell out of me because they're insanely skinny. I wouldn't do it, but to each his own.

Yea there really damn skinny im worried about that to! My Friend had them on his civic when he bought it, I mean it gave it a decent stance but he shortly sold the car after! Maybe i need to be the one to review this product i mean whats $40 dollars gonna hurt me! Well i take that back it might hurt in the long run!

just get some lowering springs if you are after the look. tenzo springs are like $150 or something and they arent terrible to ride on.ive seen those 40 dollar "coil over" things and my friend got some on his civic si, they were to terrible, it made it feel like it had no suspention travel at all. if you want to throw away $40 send it my way. lol

Well in that case ill just put it towards some springs! Ok now onto springs..... What Brand name springs will pretty much slam the car? or close to it?

check out egay, there should be something there for ya. i have the tenzo gf2's and my car is low enough for me. i still make it over 95% of speed bumps with no problem at all and the ride quality it still decent.

I got a used setup from a buddy (traded my stock lip ). Kyb Super Specials with JIC springs. He was selling them for $80. It might be worth it to look around in the classifieds.

Used suspension is hit or miss though, and definitely make sure you check everything out before you buy it.
