I went to mount my new wheels tonight and I ran into a bit of a snag. When I tried setting the aluminum centering ring into the back of the wheel I couldn't push it in by hand - it was too tight. It seemed that it would go in OK if I whacked it with a rubber mallet, but I didn't want to force it. Does this sound like the right thing to do?

Yes, they are suppose to be somewhat tight inside the rim. Is it easy for them to go onto your hub though?

Make sure when you put them in your rim to use the retaining ring as well. I called TireRack.com and asked them about the rings when I put my new rims on and they said it should be snug inside the rim but fight somewhat easily over your hub. Also said you don't have to put sealant on the rings if you don't want to.
