Question About Catalytic Converter dashboard light

Hello Guys, here´s my question:

I have a 96 Jdm Kouki S14 Q´s with a SR20DE , and when i put the key in ON all lights in the dashboard lights up as they should except the one for the catalytic converter, but when i give start to the car and is cranking normally to fire up the catalytic converter light turns on and when the car fire up it turns off.

So i was thinking is this normal or do i have something wrong? like a faulty Catalytic converter?

the owners manual should explain how the lights are supposed to work, we dont have that light on our cars in america
