i really don't see how this is fair to compare a off the shelf tune to a custom on the dyno tune. i mean i'd rather lose a few then fine tune it myself then to get a tune that might be too aggressive for the summer the months.

what really got my attention was how much smoother the power delievery is. i mean damn the jwt look like its doing jump n jacks.

however i've read in scc on project silvia that went straight to jwt to get their ecu done, and the result was 30 more whp. its like what wdracing said, the difference would be minimal if you compared a off the shelf vs off the shelf, or custom vs custom

But the Enthalpy ECU, the one that goes for $650 from BD is "off the shelf..." It's plug and play, no tuning required...what I'm gathering from these posts is that the ECU that had 40 more whp was tuned more aggressively than the ECU's that Enthalpy offers off the shelf through BD. But like WD said, timing makes a HUGE difference...I'd like to see an enthalpy ECU straight from BD compared to a JWT ECU + 2-3 deg. timing advance as well.

would the only reason to retune(500.00 bucks) be because of different injectors?

a retune from jwt is $100, different injectors and maf are the biggest reasons, also rev limiters

i see. i was thinkin that if id get cams, pistons, intake mani then id need another retune. cant you just add a fpr to the mix and not spend the 500 or 100 to send it back? granted it wont be a fine tune but it would work? i think ill be going the enthalpy route w 50 lb injectors and 300zx mafs. ill then get a fpr if i start to max out the injectors. i already have the safc.
