99% of the time, the control arm is sold as an assembly with the ball jointpressed into it already. If you bought used control arms thats ok, but getnew ball joints... if you somehow purchased new control arms which camewith no ball joints?? get new ball joints, don't use the old ones.

If you want some really technical answer, I'm sure kun or smith can helpwith that...but honestly, all you should need to know is that you don'twant to re-use the ball joints from old control arms, especially bent controlarms.

Like he said I wouldnt re-use a ball joint...

But, IIRC Nissan doesnt sell front control arm ball joints, you have to buy the control arm and ball joint as one unit.been a while since I looked at mine but I dont think you could press the ball joints out to switch them.

Do you have the control arms yet, and did you buy new or used? They will probably already have a ball joint in them.

Behold, PDM-Racing:

I bought my front LCA's from them, because you can't beat them for the price. They are Nissan OEM arms too, I dunno about the ball joints, but hey, they're in there and that's all that matters.

you can get ball joints seperate. although quality may vary. i got mine from suspensiorestoration and compared to the oem units they appear slighlty beefier. could have been an optical dillusion though..

yeah, you can get the ball joints seperate, that's a given. However, they're usually between $30-$45 each, plus you need a press to install them or go somewhere where they do have one and pay extra moneyt to have it installed in the old arms. Or one could just buy the lca's brand-new with the ball joints already pressed-in for $53 a unit and have it be a bolt-on affair.
