yes

very possible, very easy to do as well

You just need an amp that gets an input from a channel, take it off the rear sub from the bose stereo.

I bought a deal from circuit city that ties into the rear speakers and gives the rca hookups required for the amp. Works great with 2 12" MTX subs and a terminator mono block amp (also MTX).

Most monoblock MTX amps will come with this, you just wire the input directly from the existing BOSE sub.

amps/speakers will range widely depending on what you get

it bumps. I need a bigger capacitor.like i posted above, it was 600 installed. But you can get it much cheaper at a smaller stereo shop, with cheaper speakers, and amp.

I have a single Premier 10" 1000w sub in a bassworx ported box. I have an MTX 500RMS amplifier running mono. Auxilary RCA's are running through an inverter to send the right input signal to the amplifier.

I have an external sub control knob for exceptional bass control for different music styles.

I think I spent over $1500 just for parts and install... It's a really powerful setup, and shakes the $%()- out of my spoiler, and interior.

Looking back now, I would opt for the stock (8"?) sub to be replaced with a high powered sub, it would maximize trunk space.. as right now I have very little trunk room.

There is enough room for the amp to stay cool. The MTX also has a variable speed fan built into the amp for additional cooling.

At least you have trunk space! I got the MTX Terminator package at Circuit City. It was the box, 2 12" subs and a MTX terminator mono block amp....all put together from MTX and it ran about $350. I installed it myself but I have NO trunk space. I even had to remove the Infiniti carpet out of my trunk....just have the regular in there now. Bumps hard, rattles everything, but when I'm in the mood..........it's just right!

My setup is hella loud. I have the 1501D from MTX driving 2 Xtant 12s in a vented box that I have tuned for MAX air pressure.

I'm thinking about doing a custom fab box built into the sides of the trunk something like what you have Joe...but I'm not sure I want to shed that spare...

its ok.... me personally I'm pretty picky with what I run. I don't just go for loud, I like quality 1st, loud 2nd. I wouldn't buy this...but it depends on how much you are really wanting to spend.

Thats the setup I have and its great. You can adjust with the gains for sound and the amp has a three position switch for "bass boost". You can tell when its workin. This setup isn't high cost but it works VERY well and if yer lookin for some bass it'll give you all you want. MTX is middle of the road or better when it comes to audio. Some will agree....some will disagree. Quality of sound comes from your adjustments to the radio and amp, most setups are 0 on the bass, very low if not 0 on the mids (personal choice) and mid or higher on the highs (again, personal choice) all on the radio. From there you adjust the amp for what YOU want to get out of it.....If you just want monster bass without quality....turn everything to the max, otherwise it'll take some time to find your "sweet spot".

I haven't installed the pulleys yet, can't seem to coordinate with my mechanic and he is closed on the weekends. If you remember, we had this discussion about the way the "set" is set up. Because of the underdrive crank, the others are slightly over stock size to compensate for any loss in the cooling and electrical systems. I will try to get them done this week for you viv .

hey thanks for the insight bro. looks like im gona get the same setup as urs. so the only extra stuff i would need to buy would be a amp kit and a line out converter?. btw i think this system is running around something less than 600W, so the pulleys shoudnt really affect it. i bought a underdrive crank pulley as well.
