Hey, im not too experienced with putting subs into an enclosure, or what kind wattage amp i would need for a setup.

I was looking to get this enclosure:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...sures

And was looking to put 2 10" Alpine Type R like these:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...l1116

My question is, Will these have enough room to fit in that enclosure, and what kind of amp would I need to buy to be able to power both those subs. I was looking to stay with Alpine for an amp, so if someone could put some feedback, that would be awesome. Dangeris, I'm thinking of doing your idea with the hinges to get to the spare.

Thanks.

Edit: I currently own the Alpine MRP-M650. Forgot all about the thing.

Edit: I have the non-bose system, but have an aftermarket hu. JVC NX7000.

First off, what system do you currently have? I am assuming that you want to just add a sub to the stock system. IF you have the Bose Premium, then check out my post:

If you don't have the bose prem, then go to the FSM, find your specific audio system and hook up the LLC to the correct speaker wires.

I have the non bose system with an upgraded headunit. Im just more curious if that amp that I have will be powerful enough for the 2 10" subs.

What Model Sub and amp are you running...or hope to run? Nevermind..researched it and that's a big negative big buddy on the amp

Looking at those subs, they're DVC (Dual Voice Coils) 500w @ 2ohms RMS (1500w Peak) The amp that you're looking at, Alpine MRP-M650 mono, is only rated at 600W RMS @ 2ohms or 400w RMS @ 4ohms. You could probably get away with running 1 sub with the amp but definitely not 2 subs at 2 ohms.

You have two choices at this point:1. Buy the Alpine subs but get another amp big enough that will power both voice coils on the subs at 2 ohms2. Stick with the amp and just use 1 of the subs.

Either way you need to stay within the power limits of the amp and subs and make sure you run 4ga or lower for power depending which way you go.

Here's a link of how to hook up the two subs to a mono block amp. Hope it helps!

Well the other amp that i was possibly looking at was this one. I'm thinking this one should do the job for both subs.

This is the amp:http://www.crutchfield.com/p_5...p=115

You'd be much better suited with that amp. You could wire the pair of subs down to a final 2 ohm load, and the amp will push 1000 watts RMS to the pair (or 500 per sub). Those subs can usually handle more than that, but 1000 watts should be enough to get them moving nicely. Definitely run 4 AWG power and ground though.

Have to agree with Apple on this one! Go! Fight! Win!
